Virtual Drumline Sound Maps: the ones you’ll actually use

Virtual Drumline Sound Maps.

We all love Virtual Drumline, but sometimes it can be a pain to use the Sound Maps. This article will help.

Need to play a Left Hand Dry Crush on snare? That’s note head #21. A rim shot on quads? That’s 29.

The interactive list below will help you choose the right sound and remember which Sound Map note head to use for your Virtual Drumline composition.

Virtual Drumline Snare Sound Maps

The most common snare note heads are 0 and 31. These represent standard “hits,” or regular notes played on a marching snare drum—with right hand and left, respectively.

Next most common, for me anyway, is 30: the ping shot.
